Job Description: Lancashire County Council is recruiting for a Senior ICT Engineer/Designer to join their Digital Services team, working across Architecture & Data, Digital Business Engagement, Strategy & Assurance, and more.

This role will require lead technical expertise in ICT infrastructure and application support, ensuring high-level design, implementation, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and build of ICT solutions and manage small teams where necessary.


• Provide operational ICT support, including 2nd and 3rd line emergency on-call assistance.


• Take ownership of solution designs, monitoring performance, and recommending enhancements.


• Assist with disaster recovery efforts and ensure adherence to ITIL operational procedures.


• Lead discussions with suppliers, oversee design deliverables, and mentor junior team members.

Required Skills:

• Experience with Umbraco versions (version 7 and cloud), site migration, plugin development, and AD authentication integration.


• Expertise in .NET core, Bootstrap 5, and JQuery.


• Knowledge in building custom templates using Umbraco and CSHTML.

This hybrid role offers flexibility, with on-site work at County Hall, Preston, as required.
