Reliability Engineer

Reliability Engineer - Permanent - Hertfordshire

A long standing pharmaceutical client of Blackfield Associates is looking for a Reliability Engineer to join their dynamic Production Engineering team on a permanent basis working days, Monday to Friday.

As a Reliability Engineer, you will work closely with Production, Projects, Facilities, and Engineering teams to identify and mitigate reliability risks.

You will play a key role in implementing effective reliability processes, improving overall equipment performance, and reducing downtime and costs.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Developing and sustaining a world-class reliability program aligned with cGMP and GEP standards.

  • Conducting root cause analyses to reduce losses and optimize processes.

  • Performing asset analyses (MTBF, MTTR, OEE, TEEP) to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Guiding teams in reliability risk assessments, including FMEA, RCA, and TPM.

  • Providing training in diagnostic troubleshooting, predictive technologies, and modern maintenance strategies.




Suitable candidates will have the following:



  • A degree in engineering or related discipline.

  • Experience in reliability engineering practices (e.g., RCA, FMEA).

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance methods.

  • Awareness of health, safety, and quality management systems.



Desirable skills:



  • Knowledge of CMMS

  • Predictive maintenance techniques

  • Six Sigma methodology
