Overview
My client, based in the Netherlands, is at the forefront of custom-built superyachts, and they are looking for an exceptional Structural Engineer to join their innovative team.

As part of the team, you'll be deeply involved in the creation of bespoke superyachts, combining mechanical engineering, naval architecture, and state-of-the-art design.

You'll collaborate closely with experienced engineers, offering your expertise in construction, fitting, measurements, and calculations - all while pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the world of luxury yachts.

The Role
Every day will present exciting challenges as you engineer and model advanced naval constructions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and design excellence.

Your work will span across both the hull and superstructure, making a tangible difference in the way these stunning vessels come to life.


You'll need to be adaptable, as the custom nature of these projects means your solutions will be shaped by the unique desires of each client.

Your expertise will go beyond technical know-how; you'll play a role in the entire naval construction process, from the initial designs to the final stages of completion.

Responsibilities



  • Designing, checking, and applying physical models to tackle complex construction, load, and material challenges

  • Analysing and interpreting detailed drawings

  • Assisting with strength calculations (not covered by the FEM department),

  • Providing expert advice on construction techniques

  • Reviewing designs for technical accuracy and safety



Requirements



  • A relevant higher education degree

  • Proven experience in the new construction of superyachts and/or passenger ships

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software and product lifecycle management

  • In-depth knowledge of ship construction, particularly for vessels over 50m

  • A strong command of English, both written and spoken
