JOB DESCRIPTION



The primary result expected from the Polymer Chemical Operator will be to set up, operate, and tend Reactors and Feed Tanks to mix materials and control chemical reactions.

Here's what you can expect every day:


Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Observe all safety precautions and wear appropriate required PPE
• Control and operate equipment in which chemical reactions take place.


• Monitor process parameters via local gauges as well as on a centralized control system to ensure that specified conditions are maintained.


• Adjust controls to regulate temperature, pressure, feed, and flow of liquids and gases, and times of prescribed reactions, according to standard operating procedures.


• Measure, mix, and pump chemical ingredients, according to specifications.


• Record operational data such as temperature, pressure, ingredients, processing times, and test results.


• Draw samples of products at specified stages so that analyses can be performed.


• Perform necessary equipment inspections.




RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS:


• Communicating with Supervisors, peers, or subordinates: providing information to supervisors and co-workers in written form or in person.
• Maintain a good record of attendance and punctuality.
• Learn all manual tasks performed within the department.
• Perform tasks assigned using specific operating procedures and following department specific quality control processes and procedures.
• Treat people with dignity and respect.
• Conduct all business with integrity.
• Adhere to Rust-Oleum Corporation Quality principles and participate in all departmental and company-wide Quality activities.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Work overtime as needed, including weekends.
• Obtain & Maintain a NJ Black Seal Boiler License.
• Obtain & Maintain Waste Operations Certification.
• Participate on the site Emergency Response Team.
