Tremco is currently looking for a Water Scientist in the Cleveland area.
This individual has demonstrated knowledge in industrial cooling tower water treatment programs and will be responsible for all efforts and initiatives within this new technology platform for Tremco.
They can independently set up and run all test methods related to the testing of water found in water treatment towers including but not limited to (dissolved oxygen, calcium, and dissolved solids).
They can propose and create new test methods when necessary, in support of the control of scale and corrosion when given general guidance from senior leadership and business trends.
The individual will demonstrate competency and growth regarding adaptability, initiative, resourcefulness, communication, collaboration and accountability, and develop and mentor subordinates as their platform develops, improves or maintains Tremco's products and systems to grow sales and market share.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads and supervises water testing initiatives in support of intradepartmental and/or cross functional business initiatives.
- Able to occasionally travel to customer sites and instruct Tremco representatives on how to properly collect water samples.
- Understanding of microbial testing requirements for testing water quality of cooling towers a strong plus
- Leads project activities through a defined testing process.
- Presents project updates or information to influence tactical/strategic discussions amongst management effectively.
- Facilitates ideation and solutions and proves or disproves concepts.
- Assures and validates proper documentation of responsible technical and/or experimental activities.
- Independently creates project plans and oversees the coordination and administration of tasks to achieve a goal to agree upon milestones.
- Collaboratively engages stakeholders to guide development or overcome challenges.
- Supports departmental initiatives to continuously improve safety, procedures/workflows, and knowledge retention throughout department.
- May act as a guide, coach, and mentor to direct reports (if applicable) while providing developmental opportunities to grow their skill sets as they align to achieving defined business goals.
- Trains new group members and interns on testing procedures when needed.
- Develops and internalizes transformational technology into commerce.
