Role: Youth Justice Practitioner - Harmful Sexual Behaviour Specialist
Location: Barnsley
Rate of Pay: £20.85 per hour
Contract Length: 6 months

Service Care Solutions is proud to assist a local authority in recruiting for this specialist position.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced professional with demonstrable knowledge and expertise in working with children and young people who have displayed harmful sexual behaviours.

This unique role involves providing specialist assessments and interventions to children and their families across the spectrum of children's services, aiming to prevent, wherever possible, entry into the criminal justice system.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct AIM3 assessments (training in AIM3 is a minimum requirement).

  • Deliver therapeutic interventions to children and families with complex needs.

  • Write high-quality, analytical assessments for courts and professional settings, addressing risks, safety, and support needs.

  • Engage in direct work with children and families, including home visits.

  • Collaborate effectively with interprofessional and interagency teams to achieve the best outcomes for children and families.


Ideal Candidate:



  • Experience: Proven ability to work therapeutically with children and families who have displayed harmful sexual behaviours.

  • Qualifications: A social work qualification is advantageous, but candidates from allied disciplines (youth work, youth justice, early help, counselling, or other therapeutic professions) are encouraged to apply.

  • Skills: Strong analytical and report-writing skills.

  • Licensing: A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

While this is a full-time role, flexible working arrangements will be considered.
