SUMMARY
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Homeless Support Worker in Southwark to provide client-centred key-working support to residents, assisting with housing resettlement, tenancy sustainment, and personal development.

This role offers a chance to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals in the community.




THE ROLE
You will assist residents in securing their next stage housing and provide resettlement support, ensuring they successfully move into and sustain their new homes.

This role includes providing floating support for 6 months and ensuring clients are linked into necessary services after their move.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Conducting client assessments and creating tailored support plans.

  • Managing a caseload of approximately 10 clients with complex needs.

  • Providing assertive, client-centred support and risk assessments.

  • Supporting clients to maintain current accommodation and link into essential services.

  • Assisting residents in engaging with activities to reduce social isolation.

  • Advocating for residents and ensuring they receive appropriate support.

  • Liaising with external agencies to ensure holistic care and support for residents.




THE CANDIDATE
To be considered for this role, you will have previous experience working with homeless individuals, ideally with complex support needs.

You should be capable of providing risk assessments and support planning in a multi-agency setting.


Essential experience required:



  • Experience working with homeless people with complex support needs.

  • Knowledge of the Care Act and Housing legislation.

  • Experience of client-centred assessments and support planning.

  • Ability to provide support and motivate residents to achieve housing goals.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.




THE CONTRACT
Shift pattern:



  • Early shift: 08:00 - 16:00

  • Late shift: 12:00 - 20:00

  • Monday - Friday, shifts on a rota basis.



This is a temporary position to cover gaps in the service.
3 Month contract - potential for temp to perm.
The pay for the role is £25.00 per hour LTD company rate.

The PAYE equivalent is £21.31 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
