About the Health Service

This health service is a leading provider of comprehensive mental health programs, including inpatient care, community-based services, and outreach programs.

Located in Central Queensland, it serves as a hub for mental health care, with specialised teams for youth, older persons, Indigenous communities, and forensic cases.

Position Details

As a Registrar or Principal House Officer (Psychiatry), you will:



  • Deliver high-quality care aligned with National Standards for Mental Health Services.

  • Provide support and treatment across crisis response, community psychiatry, and inpatient units.

  • Participate in structured rotations to enhance clinical skills and meet RANZCP training requirements.

  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care.


Job Details:



  • Fixed-term temporary position for 12 months, with full-time and part-time options.

  • Salary: AUD $149,091 - $172,382 per annum, plus allowances and incentives.

Total remuneration of up to AUD $172,382 per annum, including:



  • Hourly rate: $129,583-$142,727 p.a.

    (L4-L7) or $129,583-$150,240 p.a.

    (L4-L9).

  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.

Requirements

Qualifications:



  • MBBS or equivalent, with eligibility for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • For international candidates: eligibility for Level 3 AHPRA supervision, with evidence of AMC Part 1, English proficiency, and recent clinical practice.


Essential Skills and Experience:



  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

  • Commitment to evidence-based care and professional growth.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.


Vaccination Requirements:
Compliance with vaccine-preventable disease requirements is mandatory.
