Planning Officer

A client within the Public Sector based in Lancashire is currently recruiting for a Planning Officer to join their team as soon as possible.

The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a planning environment.



The Role


Key purpose of the role is to be responsible for handling planning applications and providing professional planning advice on major infrastructure projects, including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs).



Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:



  • Handling development management cases, including major infrastructure projects.

  • Providing specialist advice on planning and environmental issues.

  • Managing applications related to Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs).

  • Attending site visits and hearing sessions organised by the Examining Authority.

  • Engaging with stakeholders, local authorities, and developers to ensure compliance with planning policies and regulations.



The Candidate


To be considered for this role, you will require:



  • A degree in town planning or a related environmental discipline.

  • At least 5 years' experience in planning and development management.

  • Experience with NSIP processes and major infrastructure projects.



The below skills would be beneficial for the role:



  • Strong knowledge of planning policies and environmental legislation.

  • Experience working within a local authority planning department.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.



Salary & How to Apply


The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £50 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx.

£40 per hour PAYE)
