Building Surveyor

A client within the Public Sector based in West Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their assets team as soon as possible.

The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide technical expertise on all aspects of building maintenance and surveying, including preparation of detailed specifications, planning, and monitoring work related to damp, mould, condensation, timber infestations, and structural defects.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Identifying the root cause of damp, mould, and condensation issues within domestic dwellings


• Reporting on necessary repairs to resolve these issues


• Managing specialist works in relation to damp, mould, and condensation


• Maintaining accurate records and writing high-quality communications


• Ensuring compliance with health and safety and safeguarding legislation

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require:

• HNC or equivalent (Level 4 in the Construction and Built Environment) or equivalent experience in the Building Surveying environment or working towards qualification


• Previous experience in a local authority or housing association setting


• Knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• Experience managing specialist works related to damp, mould, and condensation


• Ability to understand budgetary control and proactively manage delegated individual budgets

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering up to £35 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx.

£28 per hour PAYE).
