IT Support Technician

We have a new opportunity for an IT Support Technician to join a thriving organisation that provides integrated geoscience services globally, becoming part of their head office team, conveniently located near Conwy.

In this role, you will be responsible for a range of tasks to ensure the seamless operation of IT systems and provide technical support to end-users.

You will play a key role in upgrading and maintaining devices, assisting with user onboarding, and providing day-to-day IT support. 

As the IT Support Technician, you will be:

• Re-imaging Laptops/Desktops to Windows 11, ensuring systems are updated and fully functional
• Upgrading hardware (RAM, hard disk drives, and firmware) to improve system performance and capacity
• Assisting users with OneDrive to transfer data and ensuring a smooth transition to cloud storage solutions
• Installing software and assisting with onboarding users from an IT standpoint, ensuring systems are ready for use
• Supporting room/desk moves from an IT perspective, ensuring that all devices are correctly set up and connected
• Providing day-to-day general IT support to staff, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring minimal downtime
• Collaborating with the IT Manager to create and review IT policies and procedures

To be considered for the IT Support Technician role, you will need:

• Proven experience in IT support or a similar role
• Strong knowledge of Windows 11, hardware upgrades, and general system troubleshooting
• Familiarity with OneDrive and cloud-based data management
• Experience in assisting with IT onboarding and device setup
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical users
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
• A proactive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to assist with various IT-related tasks

This is a full-time, temporary role with potential to become permanent, offering a competitive pay rate of £13.50 - £15.00 per hour, based at the company's head office near Conwy.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
