Salary and Benefits of the Mechanical Maintenance Technician
- Actual Salary: £44,946.32
- Quarterly Bonus
- Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights) X 3, followed by a 10-day break
- Competitive Company Pension Scheme
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Maintenance Technician
As the Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance and repair work across the site.
Your primary objective will be to ensure that the plant and equipment are maintained to the highest standards to support the safe and efficient running of operations.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities Include:
- Raising relevant work permit requests and ensuring safe systems of work are followed for all tasks.
- Identifying and rectifying failures in service and equipment defects specific to mechanical systems.
- Completing scheduled maintenance as per the company's maintenance plan to ensure smooth production operations.
- Developing, reviewing, and improving maintenance procedures to ensure tasks are executed with minimal disruption to production and maximised plant availability.
- Actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that focus on improving safety, environmental performance, equipment availability, and overall efficiency.
- Taking on additional duties as required, in line with the responsibility, skill, and experience expected for the position.
Essential Criteria for the Mechanical Maintenance Technician
- Mechanical Qualifications: Apprenticeship level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong experience in Mechanical Fitting and hands-on maintenance of industrial equipment.
- Previous experience working on a COMAH Site (Control of Major Accident Hazards).
- Relevant industry experience in Chemical, Petrochemical, or Oil & Gas sectors.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
- Competence with basic computer systems, including experience with work allocation and providing feedback on maintenance tasks.
