Working in collaboration with our client, we are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our clients established Engineering Team in Poole, Dorset —  They are looking for someone who combines strategic vision with hands-on design expertise and the ability to guide a team positively and confidently through both challenge and change.

🔹 About the Role: As Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a team of design engineers, with confident direction.

You’ll be responsible for mentoring, performance management, and setting a high technical standard, while fostering a positive and productive working environment.

Your role will involve:

- Leading the design engineering team with a clear, modern strategy
- Setting the tone with a fresh, proactive leadership style
- Coaching, mentoring, and managing a diverse team with professionalism and energy
- Reviewing and signing off on complex design work
- Championing continuous improvement and innovation
- Supporting and enforcing project time lines and quality standards

🔹 About You:

- A resilient and approachable leader who can manage strong personalities and stakeholder relationships as well as inspire performance
- Comfortable with change and eager to implement new ideas and strategies
- Strong background in mechanical design engineering, with the ability to be hands-on when needed
- Proficient in CAD software (e.g.

SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
- Degree-qualified in Engineering or a related discipline
- Excellent communicator with a confident, collaborative approach
- Capable of balancing technical authority with team empathy and support
- Global engineering management/ presence would be an advantage
