As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting a child with Autism who is non-verbal.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to create a nurturing environment that enables the child to access learning and social opportunities.

Job Responsibilities


  • Provide 1:1 support as an SEN Teaching Assistant for a child with Autism who is non-verbal.




  • Implement strategies to support communication and social development.




  • Assist the class teacher in creating tailored learning activities.




  • Monitor and record the child's progress as an SEN Teaching Assistant.




  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.




  • Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment as an SEN Teaching Assistant.





Qualifications/Experience


  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable.




  • Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service.




  • Right to work in the UK.




  • Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.




  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently as an SEN Teaching Assistant.
