A local authority based in the South West is looking to add an experienced Locum Social Worker to their Children and Families Team.

This council is rated as ‘Good' with Ofsted in their 2025 inspection report.

The Children and Families team has a very strong management team with lots of support and regular supervisions meaning you feel valued in your contract.

The role also includes a very manageable case load of 18 per social worker meaning you will not be overrun and can work to your maximum potential plus a hybrid working scheme

Due to new DFE rules, I can only consider candidates with a Social Work Degree plus a minimum of 3 years in a post qualified permanent role in a local authority in England.

As a Locum Social Worker in The Children and Families Team through Charles Hunter Associates you will receive

The successful candidate must have

• Qualified Social Worker experience with minimum 3 years in a permanent post in a council in England


• Experience working in frontline safeguarding child protection plus experience in court proceedings


• Driving License and access to vehicle is essential
