About the role/school

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, inclusive primary academy in Twickenham, starting in November.

This co-educational academy, catering for children aged 4-11, promotes an ambitious ethos where every pupil is encouraged to be curious, confident, and resilient.


As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support children with a range of special educational needs, helping them to access the school's broad, well-sequenced curriculum which includes art, music, languages, and computing.

Pupils also enjoy enrichment opportunities such as clubs, trips, and leadership roles, with a strong emphasis on well-being and pastoral care.

Job Responsibilities


  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with special educational needs.




  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning plans.




  • Support pupils' emotional, social, and academic development.




  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote inclusion within the classroom.




  • Assist in creating a stimulating and engaging learning environment.




  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.




  • Uphold the school's values of respect, curiosity, and resilience in all areas of work.

Qualifications/Experience


  • Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable.




  • A strong understanding of supporting pupils with a range of needs (e.g.

    ASD, ADHD, speech and language, or emotional needs).




  • Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service.




  • Right to work in the UK.




  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
