Laboratory / Materials Technician - Construction Materials (Plate Load & CBR Testing)

Location: Remote / UK-wide (regular travel - company car provided)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent (40 hrs)
Pay: Competitive hourly rate + overtime & weekend pay

Our client is seeking an experienced Laboratory / Materials Technician to carry out field testing of soils and construction materials, specialising in Plate Load and CBR (California Bearing Ratio) testing.

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills who enjoys hands-on site work and regular travel across the UK.

• 
  

  Perform Plate Load and In-Situ CBR tests on construction and civil engineering sites.

  
  


• 
  

  Prepare and condition soil and aggregate samples (BS 1377 / BS EN ISO 22476).

  
  


• 
  

  Calibrate and maintain field testing equipment.

  
  


• 
  

  Record and report accurate test data.

  
  


• 
  

  Liaise with engineers and clients to ensure smooth operations.

  
  

Experience in construction materials or geotechnical testing

• Proficiency in Plate Load / CBR testing


• Valid CSCS card


• Full UK driving licence


• Safety-conscious and able to work independently
