Customs Operations Manager

Location: Dover, Kent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 18:00

Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Contributory Pension

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

As Customs Operations Manager, you’ll be leading a dedicated team, shaping operations, and driving performance in a busy, fast-moving environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading, supporting and motivating a team of customs clearance professionals
• Taking a hands-on approach to the day-to-day running of the department
• Managing team performance, targets and profitability
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and service levels
• Building great relationships with key clients and supporting new business opportunities
• Preparing and calculating quotations for customs and freight services
• Ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company policies
• Working closely with the management team and attending regular operations meetings

What We’re Looking For

• Around 10 years’ experience in customs clearance or freight forwarding
• Confident people management experience – you enjoy leading and bringing out the best in others
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• A proactive, can-do attitude and a genuine interest in improving how things are done
