I am searching for an experienced Director of Engineering to join a newly opening luxury lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Lisbon.

This is a key leadership role for a hands-on technical professional who thrives in fast-paced, pre-opening environments and understands the operational demands of high-end hospitality.

Reporting directly to the senior operations leadership, you will take full responsibility for the engineering function, ensuring a smooth opening and the long-term reliability, safety, and performance of the property.

Your Experience

• Previous Director of Engineering or senior engineering leadership experience within international hotel brands
• Background in luxury or luxury lifestyle hotels
• Strong pre-opening and operational engineering expertise
• Confident leading and developing multi-skilled technical teams
• Fluent Portuguese or Spanish required
• Advanced English essential for working in an international environment
• Calm, solutions-focused, and highly organised under pressure

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full engineering operation for a luxury lifestyle hotel
• Oversee a team including engineering supervisors and engineers
• Ensure all building systems, safety standards, and compliance requirements are met
• Drive preventative maintenance strategies to support high occupancy and guest satisfaction
• Work closely with operations leadership to support a successful opening and ongoing performance
• Manage budgets, suppliers, contractors, and service agreements
• Act as a visible, hands-on leader within the hotel operation
