Floating Support Worker - Adult Learning Disabilities (Middlesbrough)


We are currently recruiting for a Full-Time Floating Support Worker to join an Adult Learning Disabilities service based in the TS1 postcode area.

This is a varied role supporting adults across multiple services and residential settings, promoting independence, wellbeing, and recovery.



About the role as a Floating Support Worker:


You will work across several services and residential houses, providing flexible and responsive support to adults with learning disabilities.

The role focuses on empowering individuals by building on their strengths, coping abilities, social networks, and natural support systems.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Supporting adults with learning disabilities in residential and community settings

  • Working across multiple services as part of a floating support model

  • Promoting independence, recovery, and wellbeing

  • Encouraging positive coping strategies and community engagement

  • Supporting individuals to build and maintain social networks



About you as a Floating Support Worker:



  • Full UK driving licence (essential)

  • Previous experience supporting adults with learning disabilities

  • Experience working with autism, challenging behaviours, and support work

  • Ability to work day shifts

  • A flexible, reliable, and person-centred approach



What's on offer as a Floating Support Worker:



  • £12.85 PAYE - £16.85 Umbrella per hour

  • Full-time position

  • Temp-to-perm opportunity (12 weeks temporary, then permanent)

  • A varied role across multiple services
