TRANSPORT MANAGER – INTERNATIONAL ROAD FREIGHT

Location: Dover Area
Salary: £60,000 DOE
Monday–Friday Days | 1 in 3 Saturdays | On-Call Rota

International CPC Holders Only

An established road freight operator in the Dover area is seeking an experienced Transport Manager with a valid International CPC to take full responsibility for its transport operation.

Applications without an International CPC will not be considered.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role overseeing fleet compliance, driver performance and day-to-day operational control within a busy UK and European road freight environment.

The Role


  • Full O-licence compliance responsibility


  • Oversight of UK & European transport operations


  • Management of HGV Class 1 driver performance and standards


  • Monitoring driver hours, tachograph compliance and WTD


  • Leading recruitment, inductions and driver development


  • Handling disciplinaries and maintaining operational discipline


  • Managing vehicle availability, maintenance planning and workshop liaison


  • Investigating vehicle, trailer or load damage and implementing corrective action


  • Working closely with senior management to improve utilisation and efficiency

This role carries genuine authority and accountability.

Essential Requirements


  • Valid International CPC (mandatory)


  • Proven Transport Manager experience within UK / European road freight


  • Strong working knowledge of transport legislation and compliance


  • Experience managing drivers within a fast-paced freight environment


  • Previous Class 1 (C+E) licence advantageous


  • Confident, credible leader who can uphold standards

This is not a step-up role — we are looking for an experienced operator.
