Human Resources Director

Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 plus bonus

Location: New York, NY

I am currently working with a restaurant client in New York, and they are seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to oversee all HR functions for their three locations.

This is a standalone HR role with high visibility and direct partnership with leadership.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is comfortable owning HR strategy and execution!

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs aligned with overall business objectives.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all HR-related matters.
• Lead full-cycle talent acquisition, onboarding, and training initiatives.
• Design and manage performance management processes and employee development programs.
• Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture and lead employee engagement initiatives.
• Manage employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Oversee compensation and benefits programs, including salary benchmarking and annual reviews.
• Manage day-to-day HR operations including payroll coordination, HRIS management, and SOP development.
• Track and analyze HR metrics to support data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Prior experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry required.
• Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-growth or rapidly changing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience implementing or upgrading HRIS systems is a plus.
• Highly organized, initiative-taking, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
