Our client provides rugged power system designs and products for harsh environments, predominantly within aerospace and defence.

The successful applicant for this Mechanical Design Engineer - SolidWorks job based in Hertfordshire will be responsible for:

• Mechanical Design & Development: Design and develop mechanical solutions using SolidWorks, with a focus on electronic enclosures.


• Enclosure Design: Create robust housings suitable for harsh and demanding environments.


• Simulation and Testing: Support prototype builds and validation testing of mechanical designs.


• Technical Documentation: Generate 3D models, detailed engineering drawings, and technical documentation.


• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with electronics, systems, and manufacturing teams for project integration.

To apply for this Hertfordshire-based Mechanical Design Engineer - SolidWorks role you must have a combination of the following skills and experience:

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer


• Strong SolidWorks experience


• Proven background in designing enclosures for electronics


• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials


• Ability to obtain baseline SC security clearance
