Cladding Design Manager

We are seeking an experienced Cladding Design Manager to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis, overseeing façade and cladding design coordination from tender stage through to project completion.

Location: Essex (Office based with site visits)
Salary: £75,000 per annum
Start: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

• Support preconstruction and estimating teams with design input, methodology, and programme feasibility at tender stage


• Manage and coordinate facade and cladding design through all project stages (RIBA 1-7 where applicable)


• Lead internal and external design teams, including designers, consultants, and suppliers


• Ensure drawings, specifications, and coordinated information are delivered on time and in line with project requirements


• Develop and manage design programmes aligned with procurement, fabrication, and installation sequencing


• Identify and manage design risks, technical compliance, and buildability considerations


• Oversee production and review of technical drawings, RFIs, submittals, and design documentation


• Provide technical support to site and operations teams throughout construction and resolve design-related issues


• Maintain quality, compliance, BIM standards, and continuous improvement across all design activities

Requirements:

• Experience in a Design Manager or senior design role within facade, cladding, or construction projects


• Strong understanding of BIM, CAD systems, and design coordination processes


• Knowledge of CDM regulations, building envelopes, and construction project delivery


• Ability to manage multiple programmes, teams, and technical workflows


• Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills


• Relevant construction/design qualification or equivalent industry experience
