2D BIM Designer

A UK leading specialist in fully supported Hard Metal Roofing, Facades, Cladding Systems, and Flat Roofing is currently seeking a permanent 2D BIM Designer to oversee the design process for multiple projects, acting as a technical lead to ensure all proposals meet client expectations, budget constraints, and building legislation.

Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
Hours: 08:00 - 17:00 (Monday - Friday)
Contract: Permanent
Location: Essex (Office Based)

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce high-quality 2D AutoCAD construction drawings and design data.


• Manage the development of design proposals from architectural intent to construction solutions.


• Coordinate subcontractor drawings across various trades to ensure a cohesive design.


• Adhere to budget constraints and maintain developed designs as financially viable.


• Ensure full compliance with ISO9001, Building Regulations (Part B), and NHBC conditions.


• Prepare comprehensive site reports from surveys regarding progress, quality, and compliance.


• Lead design team meetings with consultants and sub-contract designers.


• Coordinate the submission of information for building control compliance.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in Hard Metal Roofing, Flat Roofing, and/or Cladding Design (Preferable).


• High-level competency with AutoCAD (Essential).


• Deep understanding of Approved Document Part B and NHBC conditions (Essential).


• Strong track record of providing quality design information for large-scale projects.


• Excellent communication skills to explain construction concepts visually and verbally.


• Familiarity with online document portals (e.g., 4Projects, Aconex) is an advantage.


• Full UK Driving Licence.
