Junior Draughtsman

We are currently seeking a Junior Draughtsman to join a growing architectural metalwork team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in steel detailing who is looking to further develop their career within a well-established fabrication environment.

Location: Essex (Office Based)
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
Hours: 8:00 - 16:00
Software: Advanced Steel
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings using Advanced Steel


• Prepare fabrication drawings for architectural metalwork packages


• Create general arrangements, detailed sections, and connection details


• Develop drawings for staircases, balustrades, handrails, balconies, and bespoke metalwork


• Liaise with design teams, project managers, and workshop staff to ensure buildability


• Revise drawings in line with client comments and engineer approvals


• Ensure drawings comply with relevant building regulations and project specifications


• Assist with material take-offs and coordination of information for production


• Support site teams with technical drawing queries when required

Requirements:

• Previous experience in steel detailing or architectural metalwork


• Proficient in Advanced Steel


• Understanding of fabrication processes and installation methods


• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings


• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills


• Good communication skills and ability to work within a team
