JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:



We are seeking an intern to assist in our state of the art R&D facility in Greensboro, NC.

The intern will assist senior scientists in exploring a high reward pigment dispersion initiative.

This project is approaching the batch-making stage.

We need a dependable and resourceful scientist to assist with bench work, testing, and documentation.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Create lab batch samples using dispersion mixer and ball mill.



  • Create and test samples using equipment such as rheometers and spectrophotometers.

  • Document and communicate results to team leaders and managers.

  • Adhere to pre-determined testing timeframes.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:



Rising sophomore or junior attending advanced studies in chemistry, chemical engineering or related field at a credited university or college.



EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:



Some lab experience preferred, but willing to train.



OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Dependable

  • Willing to learn

  • Inquisitive

  • Microsoft Office Suite.

    Statistical software, such as JMP, would be a plus but not necessary.



WORK LOCATION:




The intern will work onsite at our state of the art R&D facility in Greensboro, NC.




PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, balance, talk, hear, and lift up to 25 lbs.



BENEFITS & COMPENSATION:



Tremco CPG Summer Internship is a great opportunity to learn and grow.

Our program runs from June 8th to August 6th.

The hourly rate for applicants in this position generally ranges between $18 to $22.

This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
