GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:



The primary purpose of this role is to support the Analytical Lab by performing analytical testing under the supervision of the analytical scientist.

Testing will include running FTIR, TGA, DSC, GC-MS, GPC, and other analytical equipment.





ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for routine testing with various analytical instruments, FTIR, TGA, DSC, GC-MS, GPC, and other analytical equipment.


• Polymer development efforts through material chart erization under supervision
  
  
  


• Conduct laboratory testing and evaluations of monomers.


• Record, analyze, and report experimental data.


• Maintain accurate lab documentation and follow safety protocols.


• Assist in general lab organization and material preparation.
  
  
  

• Must be a rising sophomore, junior or senior in good academic standing, pursuing a bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry at an accredited college or university.
  
  


• Analytical and Organic Chemistry 2 coursework required, and polymer chemistry classes preferred.
  
  

• Experience within college laboratories is preferred/encouraged but not required.

• Basic laboratory skills (mixing, measuring, handling chemicals).


• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.


• Ability to follow procedures and safety guidelines.


• Analytical instruments, FTIR, TGA, DSC, GC-MS, GPC.
  
  

• Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, and lift up to 50 lbs.

• The hourly rate for applicants in this position generally ranges between $18.00 and $23.00.
