Maintenance Operative - Exeter

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Operative to support the upkeep of this distinctive property and its grounds.

This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining both the functionality and character of a building.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, basic electrical work, carpentry, and decorating
• Ensure the building, facilities, and grounds are safe, secure, and well-maintained
• Maintain outdoor areas and gardens, contributing to a calm and therapeutic environment
• Conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with health & safety standards
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff
• Coordinate with external contractors when required
• Support the upkeep of communal areas and shared spaces

About You

• Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role
• Practical skills across a range of trades
• Good knowledge of health & safety regulations
• Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Reliable, organised, and proactive
• Comfortable working within a care environment and interacting respectfully with residents and staff
