Director of Purchasing & Receiving – San Diego, CA

Salary: $105,000–$125,000 + Bonus + Benefits

We are partnering with a luxury hospitality destination in San Diego that is looking for a Director of Purchasing & Receiving to join its leadership team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, improving processes, and making a real impact behind the scenes.

You'll lead the purchasing and receiving function, ensuring every department has what it needs to deliver an exceptional guest experience while keeping costs under control and operations running smoothly.

Working closely with Finance, Culinary, Food & Beverage, and Operations, you'll be a key business partner, helping drive efficiencies, manage supplier relationships, and support the day-to-day success of the property.

What You'll Do

• Oversee all purchasing and receiving activities, ensuring products and supplies are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts and pricing, and identify opportunities to improve value and reduce costs
• Work closely with operational teams to forecast purchasing needs, manage inventory, and support large events and day-to-day business requirements
• Monitor purchasing performance, inventory levels, and food & beverage costs, providing regular analysis and recommendations to leadership
• Lead, coach, and develop the purchasing and receiving team while creating efficient processes and maintaining compliance across all procurement activities

About You

• Proven experience leading purchasing or procurement within a hotel, resort, or large hospitality operation
• Strong understanding of purchasing, inventory management, supplier negotiations, and cost control
• Experience using procurement or ERP systems such as BirchStreet, Oracle, or similar platforms
• Commercially minded with strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into practical business decisions
• A collaborative leader who enjoys working across departments and building strong internal and external relationships
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
