Interim Operations Director

Are you an experienced senior leader in children's residential care, currently working as an Operations Manager, Regional Manager, Area Manager or Responsible Individual? Are you looking for your next interim opportunity with a well-established children's home provider?


Our client is a reputable provider of Ofsted-regulated children's homes with multiple services across London.

They are seeking an experienced Interim Operations Director to oversee a portfolio of children's homes while supporting operational performance and service development.


Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational, financial and regulatory performance of multiple services.

You will provide strong leadership to the management team, drive service improvement, support business growth, and ensure high-quality outcomes for children and young people.


Pay Rate



  • Up to £43.27 per hour PAYE and up to £56.85 Umbrella

  • Temporary / Interim contract

  • Opportunity for Full Time or Part Time Hours


Key Responsibilities



  • Oversee the operational performance of multiple Ofsted-regulated children's homes.

  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and quality standards across all services.

  • Support financial performance, budgeting and operational efficiency.

  • Lead, mentor and develop Registered Managers and senior leadership teams.

  • Drive continuous improvement, occupancy growth and business development initiatives.

  • Promote positive outcomes and high standards of care for children and young people.


To be considered, you will have:



  • Current or previous senior management experience within Ofsted-regulated children's residential services

  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple children's homes.

  • Excellent knowledge of Ofsted regulations and a proven track record of achieving positive inspection outcomes.

  • Strong commercial awareness, including budgeting and financial management.

  • A positive, inspirational leadership style with the ability to build and maintain high-performing teams.
