Learning Support Worker - Autism & Learning Disabilities

Location: Cranleigh, Surrey
Salary: £25,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent
No weekends or sleep-ins

We are working with a fantastic charity that provides specialist support and education to children and adults with Autism and Learning Disabilities.

They are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Workers to join their purpose-built adult educational day centre in Cranleigh, Surrey.


The Role

As a Learning Support Worker, you will support adults aged 18+ with Autism and Learning Disabilities to get the most out of their day.


Your responsibilities will include:




  • Supporting individuals to participate in educational and developmental activities




  • Encouraging independence, confidence and personal development




  • Creating opportunities for individuals to try new activities and experiences




  • Providing personal care when required




  • Supporting individuals who may display challenging behaviours




  • Building positive, trusting relationships with the people you support




  • Working as part of a dedicated and supportive team




What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will ideally have:




  • Previous experience in support work, education or care involving people with Autism and/or Learning Disabilities




  • Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviour




  • A willingness to provide personal care when required




  • A positive, enthusiastic and patient approach




  • A good sense of humour and a genuine passion for helping others




  • A willingness to learn and develop professionally




  • A full driving licence due to the location of the centre
