Director of Rooms

Location: Chicago, IL
Compensation: $100,000–$108,000 per year

The Opportunity

I am currently hiring on behalf of a luxury lifestyle hotel in downtown Chicago for an experienced Director of Rooms to oversee the full Rooms Division, including Front Office, Housekeeping, and Guest Services.

This is a key leadership position responsible for driving exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, team performance, and financial results across the Rooms Division.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all Rooms Division operations, including Front Office, Housekeeping, and Guest Services, ensuring exceptional service and seamless guest experiences.
• Drive guest satisfaction, VIP service, quality standards, and effective service recovery.
• Manage budgets, labor, forecasting, and operational performance while supporting occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR goals.
• Lead, coach, and develop teams while fostering accountability, engagement, and strong cross-departmental communication.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards, hotel policies, PMS procedures, safety requirements, and overall operational standards.

Candidate Profile

• 5+ years of progressive hotel Rooms Division leadership experience.
• Previous experience as a Director of Rooms, Director of Front Office, Executive Housekeeper, or similar senior Rooms role.
• Experience within an upscale, luxury, lifestyle, boutique, or full-service hotel environment.
• Proven ability to lead large, multi-department teams.
• Strong financial and operational knowledge, including budgeting, forecasting, and labor management.
• Experience with hotel PMS and operational systems.
• Strong guest service mindset and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume urban hotel.
