Residential Support Worker - Exeter

£13.50 per hour + £70 per sleep-in

We are looking for dedicated Residential Support Workers to join a supportive children's residential service in Exeter.

The Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide day-to-day care, guidance and emotional support to children and young people.


You will:




  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people




  • Support children with their daily routines and activities




  • Encourage independence, confidence and personal development




  • Provide emotional and practical support




  • Support education, hobbies and community activities




  • Work as part of a dedicated care team




  • Follow individual care plans and safeguarding procedures




  • Complete appropriate records and reports




  • Participate in sleep-in duties





What We're Looking For

You don't necessarily need previous residential childcare experience.

We are particularly interested in people who have:




  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people




  • A caring, patient and resilient approach




  • Good communication skills




  • The ability to remain calm in challenging situations




  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn




  • The ability to work shifts, including sleep-ins




Previous experience in children's residential care, support work, education, youth work or a similar environment would be advantageous.
