About the role and school

Teach Plus are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Hayes, starting in September 2026.

The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will be confident working across the primary age range, have strong classroom management skills and be passionate about creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

This Higher Level Teaching Assistant opportunity would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant or Higher Level Teaching Assistant who is ready to take on additional responsibility within a primary school setting.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with class teachers and the wider support team, deliver lessons to whole classes, acting as the lead teacher across all key stages from EYFS - KS2.

You will also deliver targeted interventions and contribute meaningfully to pupils' academic and personal development.

Job Responsibilities

• Support teachers with the planning and delivery of engaging, differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum


• Lead small-group and one-to-one interventions to support pupils' academic progress, including reading, phonics, writing and mathematics


• Deliver pre-planned lessons to whole classess, maintaining high expectations of pupil behaviour and achievement


• Provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning needs, adapting activities to meet individual needs and abilities


• Promote positive behaviour, independence and confidence through consistent classroom management and positive reinforcement


• Monitor pupil progress, provide feedback to teachers and contribute to assessment and wider classroom organisation

Qualifications/Experience

• Experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or in a similar role


• Strong subject/curriculum knowledge relevant to the role


• Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service


• Right to work in the UK
