About the role and school

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in Waltham Forest from September.

This SEN Teacher role offers the opportunity to work within a specialist environment supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and helping them achieve their individual potential.

The school provides a highly structured and supportive learning environment, with a strong focus on communication, independence, wellbeing and personalised learning.

The successful SEN Teacher will work alongside experienced support staff and specialist colleagues to create engaging learning experiences tailored to individual pupils.

This SEN Teacher position would suit a passionate and adaptable teacher who is committed to inclusive education and enjoys building strong relationships with pupils.

There is flexibility around the specific class or age group, making this an excellent opportunity for teachers with different areas of SEN experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons as an SEN Teacher


• Adapt teaching to meet individual learning and communication needs


• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development


• Monitor progress and contribute to individual learning plans


• Create a structured, positive and inclusive classroom environment


• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SEN staff and external professionals

Qualifications/Experience

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS


• Previous experience working with pupils with SEND is desirable


• Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies


• Excellent behaviour management and communication skills


• Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service


• Right to work in the UK
