Reports To: Regional Operations Manager

Position Summary



FinishWorks is seeking a knowledgeable and results-driven Facility Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of facility operations.

This leadership position is responsible for ensuring efficient production, quality, warehouse, inventory, administrative, staffing, safety, and maintenance operations.


The Facility Operations Manager will develop and implement processes that support production objectives, manage operating costs, minimize delays, and maximize the effective use of employees, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.

The successful candidate will provide hands-on leadership while maintaining a safe, compliant, efficient, and professional work environment.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Oversee daily production, quality control, warehouse, inventory, administrative, and other assigned facility operations.

  • Develop and implement plans to minimize manufacturing costs through the effective use of employees, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.

  • Manage facility spending in accordance with budget requirements and changes in production volume.

  • Establish clear individual and departmental accountabilities for problem-solving, performance, and cost reduction.

  • Prepare work schedules, assign responsibilities, and oversee employees to ensure production, shipping, and order requirements are met.

  • Coordinate with other departments and FinishWorks facilities to meet scheduling and operational needs.

  • Identify and promptly address material shortages, equipment or machine defects, inventory discrepancies, and causes of production delays.

  • Oversee equipment and work-area maintenance and repairs to reduce risk and operational downtime.

  • Maintain a safe and secure workplace by enforcing established safety standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Address physical safety concerns and promote consistent adherence to required safety procedures.

  • Address employee concerns, maintain morale, and promote positive employee relations in accordance with company policies.

  • Interview qualified candidates and support employee onboarding, orientation, and training.

  • Participate in staffing activities, including transfers, promotions, and corrective actions.

  • Remain knowledgeable about current production methods, products, and management practices.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience



  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • College degree preferred.

  • Minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing supervision or management role.

  • OSHA and hazardous materials training required.

  • Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing or departmental operations.

  • Strong understanding of company policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated leadership and employee-management abilities.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills.

  • Working knowledge of inventory-control practices.

  • Ability to evaluate the accuracy and effectiveness of processes using established guidelines and prior experience.

  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to organize and complete assigned projects efficiently.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required Certifications



The following certifications must be obtained within 90 days of hire:


  • OSHA 30

  • RPM Forklift Training Program

  • Hazardous Material DOT

  • Hazardous Waste

  • RPM Elevate Leadership Training Program

Physical Requirements



The position regularly requires standing, reaching, handling, twisting or turning, talking, seeing, and hearing.

The employee must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Frequent bending, squatting, and stooping are required.

The role may also occasionally require sitting, walking, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, writing, and driving.

Work Environment



This position works in a paint-manufacturing facility with a typically moderate noise level.
