About the role and school


Teach Plus are currently working with a large specialist school in Waltham Forest who are looking to appoint a number of enthusiastic and committed SEN Teachers for full-time positions starting ASAP.


Due to continued growth and increasing pupil numbers, the school has several SEN Teacher vacancies available across different areas of the school.

This provides an excellent opportunity for teachers with previous SEND experience, as well as mainstream teachers looking to develop their career within a specialist setting.


The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs and places a strong emphasis on personalised learning, communication, independence and emotional wellbeing.

You will work alongside experienced teaching and support staff to provide engaging and appropriately differentiated learning.


The school has a supportive environment and is keen to appoint SEN Teachers who are passionate about making a genuine difference to pupils' lives.


Job Responsibilities



  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.

  • Differentiate the curriculum according to pupils' abilities and EHCP outcomes.

  • Establish positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

  • Promote communication, independence and personal development.

  • Manage behaviour positively and consistently.

  • Monitor, assess and record pupil progress.

  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other classroom staff.

  • Liaise with parents, carers and external professionals where appropriate.

  • Contribute to EHCP reviews and individual learning plans.

  • Maintain high safeguarding and professional standards.


Qualifications/Experience



  • Qualified Teacher Status is essential.

  • Previous experience working with pupils with SEND is desirable.

  • Experience with autism, complex needs, communication difficulties or behavioural needs would be advantageous.

  • Mainstream teachers with a genuine interest in moving into SEN are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong classroom management and differentiation skills.

  • Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Commitment to inclusive education.
