Location: Huddersfield
Salary: £64,000 - £72,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
The Opportunity:
We're seeking an accomplished Manufacturing Manager to take ownership of manufacturing operations at an established chemical production site in Huddersfield.
This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who combines strong operational expertise with a genuine ability to lead people.
You'll be responsible for ensuring production runs safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, while identifying opportunities to improve processes, performance and overall site effectiveness.
Working closely with teams across the business, you'll have an important role in maintaining high operational standards and supporting the site's continued development.
Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Manager:
- Take overall responsibility for day-to-day manufacturing operations and the smooth running of site activities.
- Lead, manage and develop the Operations team, providing clear direction and practical support.
- Ensure production and engineering activities are delivered efficiently and with effective cost control.
- Take the lead on resolving production and engineering issues, including the coordination of unusual or non-standard operations.
- Ensure the site consistently meets company requirements and relevant legislation covering quality, health and safety, environmental performance and people.
- Maintain compliance with applicable ISO quality standards, working in partnership with the SHEQ Manager.
- Monitor manufacturing output and product quality, introducing corrective actions and improvement initiatives where necessary.
- Champion operational health and safety across the site, working closely with the SHE Manager.
- Manage expenditure associated with repairs, equipment renewals and external contractors.
- Work collaboratively with the Technical Department, including the Research & Applications Manager, when required.
- Support business priorities by responding to operational requirements and contributing to projects assigned by the Board.
About You:
You'll be a confident operational leader with experience managing production within a manufacturing environment.
You'll be comfortable working hands-on, making decisions, resolving problems and leading a team, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
