Process Engineer I
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Process Engineer I provides engineering support to manufacturing operations by identifying opportunities for process improvements, assisting with production troubleshooting, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
This position works closely with production, quality, maintenance, and safety teams to improve efficiency, product quality, and operational performance while developing foundational process engineering skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Process Support & Optimization
- Assist in monitoring manufacturing processes to ensure consistent product quality and operational efficiency.
- Support investigations into process-related issues and participate in root cause analysis activities.
- Collect, analyze, and report production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Assist with implementing process changes under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement projects.
- Support waste reduction and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process standardization.
- Maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure engineering changes are documented and communicated appropriately.
- Support compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Work with production personnel to resolve day-to-day operational issues.
- Assist quality and maintenance teams with investigations and corrective actions.
- Participate in project meetings and process reviews.
- Support capital improvement and equipment installation projects as assigned.
Degree, technical certificate, or related engineering education preferred.
Minimum 1-2 years related manufacturing/process engineering experience.
Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and Microsoft Office skills required.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional travel for training, project support, supplier visits, or professional development may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in office and manufacturing settings and requires regular interaction with production processes, equipment, and cross-functional teams.
