About the role and school

Teach Plus are currently working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets who are looking to appoint an experienced SEN Teacher for a January 2027 start.

The successful SEN Teacher will be joining a specialist provision within a mainstream primary school, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.

The role will involve creating a structured, engaging and supportive learning environment where pupils can make progress academically, socially and emotionally.

This is a year-long SEN Teacher position, offering excellent continuity for the successful candidate.

You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, the SENCO and wider school team to ensure that pupils receive consistent and personalised support.

The school is looking for a passionate SEN Teacher who is confident adapting teaching to meet individual needs and who can build strong relationships with pupils.

Job Responsibilities

• 
  Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEND.
  


• 
  Adapt teaching and resources to meet individual learning needs.
  


• 
  Create a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
  


• 
  Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
  


• 
  Implement strategies outlined within EHCPs and individual support plans.
  


• 
  Monitor and assess pupil progress.
  


• 
  Work closely with Teaching Assistants and the SENCO.
  


• 
  Develop positive relationships with pupils and their families.
  


• 
  Maintain high expectations for learning, behaviour and progress.
  


• 
  Contribute to reviews, meetings and wider school activities.
  

Qualifications/Experience

• 
  Qualified Teacher Status is essential.
  


• 
  Previous SEN teaching experience is highly desirable.
  


• 
  Experience working with pupils with autism, communication needs, SEMH or other additional needs would be advantageous.
  


• 
  Strong understanding of differentiation and personalised learning.
  


• 
  Confident classroom management skills.
  


• 
  Patient, consistent and nurturing approach.
  


• 
  Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  


• 
  A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND.
