Estimator

A leading structural steel specialist is currently looking for a permanent Estimator in South Wales.

Candidates able to work from the company's Heathrow, West London office will also be considered.

As an Estimator you shape the beginning of each project, interpreting drawings, creating accurate tenders, analysing quotations and making sure proposals are competitive and technically sound across major UK airport, rail, architectural and international infrastructure steelwork projects.

Start Date: Immediate
Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Location: South Wales

Duties:

• Interpret drawings and specifications.


• Prepare BOQs, pricing models and tender submissions.


• Engage suppliers, analyse quotations and support tender strategy.


• Support value engineering and risk reviews.

Requirements:

• Experience in estimating (steel or construction preferred).


• Strong skills in reading drawings.


• Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.


• Clear communicator across technical and commercial teams.

Progression:

• 1 Month: Learn tender systems and shadow estimates.


• 3 Months: Run independent small to mid-size tenders.


• 6 Months: Lead major tender packages and shape bid strategy.


• 12 Months: Become a core work-winning contributor.
