Designers, Estimators, Quantity Surveyor & Document Controller

A leading specialist metal roofing, cladding and flat roofing contractor is currently looking for several permanent professionals to join its growing team in Essex: Designers (AutoCAD or Revit), Estimators (Flat Roofing / Multi-Discipline), a Quantity Surveyor and a Document Controller.

The business delivers fully supported hard metal roofing, facades, cladding systems and flat roofing on projects of varying sizes across the UK.

Start Date: Immediate
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum (Designers, Estimators, Quantity Surveyor); £30,000 per annum (Document Controller)
Contract: Permanent
Location: Essex

Designer - AutoCAD (2D) or Revit (BIM):

• Producing construction drawings and designs on time and to a high standard, from design proposal through to construction


• Coordinating subcontractor drawings, building control submissions and design deliverables across multiple projects


• Hard metal roofing and/or flat roofing and cladding design experience — 5+ years preferable


• High-level competency with AutoCAD or Revit


• Knowledge of Approved Document Part B and NHBC conditions (Essential)


• Full driving licence


• Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday - Friday); full training provided

Estimator - Flat Roofing / Multi-Discipline Roofing & Cladding:

• Preparing tenders, take-offs, rates and priced bills of quantities from construction drawings, using Excel and Bluebeam


• Projects ranging from £50k (flat roofing) / £200k (multi-discipline) to £4M+, reporting to the Estimating Director


• Experience across flat roofing systems (e.g.
  
  hot melt, single ply, tapered insulation, felt, cold applied liquids) with manufacturers such as Bauder, Radmat, IKO, Axter and Kemper


• Multi-Discipline role: 5 years' flat roofing and 5 years' rainscreen cladding estimating experience preferred (SFS, CWCT aluminium rainscreen, cavity/fire barriers)


• Well versed in non-combustible cladding solutions and fire barriers for buildings over 18m, and target U-values


• Salary for the Multi-Discipline role is DOE

Quantity Surveyor:

• Managing, reporting on and controlling the commercial and financial aspects of projects with the Commercial team


• Applications for payment, variations, cost reporting, forecasting, Early Warning Notices and Extension of Time requests


• Minimum 4 years' experience, ideally with some façade/external envelope/flat roofing experience


• Degree qualification (2:1 or above) and full driving licence


• In-depth understanding of construction sub-contracts (e.g.
  
  JCT Design and Build, NEC3) — mainly NEC


• Approx.
  
  1 day a week visiting site

Document Controller:

• Administrative and document control support to the Contracts Team


• Uploading and distributing construction documents across project portals (Aconex, Asite, 4Projects/Viewpoint, Procore, Dalux and others)


• Logging and tracking NCRs, chasing ITPs/WIRs, booking inductions and saving site reports


• Good knowledge and experience of at least one document submission portal


• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel; construction experience preferred
