Harper May is working with a founder-led media and events group that has grown steadily over the past five years through a combination of organic expansion and selective acquisitions.

The business operates across digital content, live events, and audience monetisation, with a track record of building loyal communities around its properties.

The finance function is now being strengthened to support the next phase of growth, and they are seeking an FP&A Manager to take on a more analytical, forward-looking role.

The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will own financial planning, analysis, and insight across the business.

This is less about month-end compliance and more about understanding the drivers of profitability across different revenue streams-events, sponsorship, and content licensing.

You will partner closely with commercial and operations leadership to model scenarios, track performance in real time, and surface the metrics that actually inform decision-making.

• Build and maintain rolling forecasts and scenario models for events and content revenue pipelines
• Analyse margin and profitability by event, property, and revenue type; identify cost optimisation opportunities
• Support the leadership team with ad hoc financial analysis to inform strategic decisions and negotiations
• Develop and own a suite of management reports and KPIs that track business performance in real time
• Work with systems and data teams to improve financial reporting infrastructure and automation
• Prepare budget submissions and track variances throughout the year

What we are looking for

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, or equivalent finance experience in a commercial operations role
• Proven experience in FP&A, business analysis, or commercial finance-ideally in media, entertainment, or events
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools or financial modelling platforms is valued
• Analytical mindset with comfort working from incomplete data to test hypotheses and shape strategy
• Ability to translate complex financial analysis into clear narratives for non-finance audiences
