Senior Bioprocess Engineer - Process Development

Newton Colmore is working with a well-funded tech company developing AI-driven bioprocessing systems for the pharmaceutical industry, focused on mammalian cell culture and monoclonal antibody production.

Due to continued growth, we are assisting them with their hiring of a Senior Bioprocess Engineer to join their team which is a vital appointment for them.

Within this role you will bridge process biology and advanced sensing, running suspension CHO/HEK293 cultures across scales from the bench to pilot, building and maintaining Raman/PLS models, and translating bioreactor behaviour into requirements for engineering and software teams.

You will be joining a multidisciplinary team of high talent engineers and scientists, and your role will be pivotal to the development of their technology.

We are ideally looking for a candidate with the following;

• Significant industry experience within pharma/biotech, strong upstream focus


• Cell culture in fed-batch and perfusion bioreactors, with scale-up/scale-down and tech transfer experience under GMP


• Hands-on with in-line/at-line sensors, calibration and analytes (glucose, lactate, titer, osmolality etc.)


• Raman spectroscopy with PLS chemometric modelling
