Commercial Account Handler - Wakefield - Up to £40,000

Join a growing, independently owned broker in Wakefield that puts service, expertise and long-term client relationships at the heart of everything it does - and become a key part of the team managing a substantial mid-market book.

This is a support role with real substance.

You'll be working alongside a senior broker to service a well-established book of roughly £500,000 income, across a broad range of mid-market and larger commercial risks.

It's a great opportunity for an experienced handler who wants to work on more complex, interesting risks within a business that trusts its people and values their input.

Salary: Up to £40,000
Location: Wakefield
Working pattern: Office based

What you'll be doing

• Supporting a senior broker in the day-to-day management of a £500,000 income mid-market book


• Handling renewals, MTAs and client queries across a broad range of commercial classes


• Liaising with insurers to obtain terms, negotiate cover and confirm placements


• Maintaining accurate client records and ensuring a consistently high standard of service


• Building strong working relationships with clients and insurer partners


• Contributing to a close-knit, ambitious team where ideas are welcomed and service genuinely matters

What they're looking for

• Solid experience in commercial account handling - mid-market exposure preferred


• Broad knowledge across commercial lines


• Comfortable working on larger, more complex risks


• Well organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities


• A strong communicator who builds trust with clients and colleagues alike


• CII qualifications beneficial but not essential
