12-Month Fixed Term Contract | Leeds, West Yorkshire | £40,000 + Benefits

I am exclusively recruiting x2 Mechanical Design Engineers for my client following a significant investment in the development of two new machines.

Both positions are offered on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract.

Using SolidWorks, you will produce 2D and 3D designs and facility layout drawings showing how the new machines will fit within the existing site.

You will also detail the pipework and ducting required to connect them to the facility services and processing systems.

The Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:

• Produce 2D & 3D mechanical designs using SolidWorks


• Create facility layout drawings for new machine installations


• Design associated pipework, ducting and utility connections


• Generate fabrication, assembly and manufacturing drawings


• Support installation and commissioning activities


• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Project teams


• Ensure designs meet customer, quality and safety requirements

What You'll Need

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Mechanical Design Engineering


• Strong SolidWorks 3D design and modelling skills


• AutoCAD experience essential


• Mechanical Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) preferred


• Excellent attention to detail and technical accuracy

Desirable Experience

We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in:

• Fabrication, sheet metal and welded structures


• Mechanical assemblies and bespoke machinery


• Industrial automation or process engineering environments


• Ductwork, emissions control and ventilation systems


• Industrial pipework and plant layout design


• Manufacturing-focused design for assembly principles


• Combustion systems and air handling equipment
