Electrical Engineer / Testing & Inspection Electrician

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience

Aqumen Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Electrical Engineer / Testing & Inspection Electrician on behalf of an established and growing electrical and security business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician who is confident working independently across electrical installation, maintenance, fault finding, testing and inspection.

If you hold your 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification alongside a recognised Testing & Inspection qualification such as City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent, we want to hear from you.

The Role

Working across a variety of customer sites, you will be responsible for:



  • Electrical installation, maintenance and repair


  • Electrical testing and inspection


  • Completing Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs)


  • Fault finding, diagnostics and remedial works


  • Identifying electrical defects and non-compliance


  • Planned and reactive electrical maintenance


  • Installation and modification of electrical systems


  • Ensuring work complies with BS 7671 and current regulations


  • Completing electrical certificates, reports and job documentation


  • Liaising directly with customers and delivering excellent service


  • Working independently while supporting other engineers when required


What We're Looking For

To be considered, you will need:



  • 17th and/or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations


  • Testing & Inspection qualification – City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent


  • A recognised electrical installation qualification


  • Strong practical experience as an Electrician or Electrical Engineer


  • Experience with electrical testing, inspection and fault finding


  • Good working knowledge of BS 7671


  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical information


  • Full UK driving licence


  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
