A kitchen porter (KP) keeps a commercial kitchen clean, organized, and running smoothly by handling washing, cleaning, and basic support tasksCore Duties

- Washing up: Cleaning pots, pans, cutlery, and cooking utensils by hand or using an industrial dishwasher.

- Cleaning surfaces: Wiping down countertops, sanitizing work areas, and sweeping or mopping floors.

- Waste management: Emptying bins, managing recycling, and disposing of kitchen waste properly.

- Handling deliveries: Unloading, unpacking, and organizing food supplies and equipment in storerooms, fridges, and freezers.

- Basic food preparation: Helping chefs with simple tasks like peeling, washing, or chopping vegetables when needed.
