An exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join an established engineering organisation developing complex systems for highly regulated applications.

You’ll work within a multidisciplinary engineering team, developing and maintaining real-time embedded software while supporting system integration, commissioning and customer-facing technical activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop software from requirements and design through to coding, integration and testing.
- Develop and maintain C/C++ real-time embedded software.
- Work closely with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
- Maintain software requirements, technical issues and documentation.
- Develop robust software with a focus on fault management, reporting and system health.
- Support customer integration, commissioning and problem resolution.
- Contribute to system requirements, technical decisions and project planning.
- Identify and manage technical risks and provide input to project reviews.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong experience developing C/C++ real-time embedded software.
- Good understanding of embedded hardware.
- Experience developing user interfaces.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills.
- Experience maintaining and enhancing existing software.
- Experience with RS-232, RS-422, UART, TCP/IP and UDP.

Desirable:

- VxWorks or another RTOS.
- C#/.NET and Windows application development.
- Git or SVN.
- Jira and Confluence.
- Unit testing and static code analysis.
